Hiring a Contractor

Tips For Hiring Contractors

Choosing a contractor for your renovation project might be not as easy as we think if you consider the amount of people who are trying to work as remodellers. There used to be a saying, “buy a truck, become a contractor.” This saying might be true if you talk to some people who had renovations done with less than good results.

So many non licensed, and non educated so called contractors are getting into the industry for many reasons, and are trying real hard, but do not have the qualifications, skills, or know how to do an effective, professional job.

Please note that there are many that are quite professional and talented. Infact many trades know what they are doing, and can, and will do excellent work for you. They are out there. They are what I would call, “old school” trades.

The sad part is that some people get taken for a lot of money and are stuck with inadequate renovations. When I talk to some professionals that I know who have been in the business for many years, unfortunately are finding that a lot of their work consists of fixing botched renos and are stating that most homeowners are paying double to have the job done twice. These guys are good but still, it shouldn’t be like this.

If you would like to check my other blog, you will find a good tip for choosing the proper contractor.
